If you’re anything like us, you spend your entire summer counting down the days to Halloween. Luckily, Summerween provides the spooky vibes that we crave all year long. This holiday combines two of the best times of the year: Halloween and summer! Originally inspired by a popular cartoon, Summerween is a celebration of all things Halloween during the summertime, perfect for those who can’t wait to get into the spooky spirit! Nothing screams creepy celebration quite like a Summerween party complete with horror costumes, terrifying treats, and ghoulish guests.
We still have a while to go before Halloween, but never fear; now is the time to start planning all your Summerween celebrations! And since Summerween parties will attract like-minded horror fans, we thought we’d do something fun. Here are the six different types of people you’ll meet at a Summerween party, based on some of the absolute best horror tropes!
The Final Girl
The Final Girl (or guy) ALWAYS arrives fashionably late and is the last to leave! They’re here for a good time and a long time. This person spends the night taking selfies, posting videos of the party on her story, and plotting ways to escape the scariest of hangovers.
This person shows up in the hottest fit possible, even if it’s not exactly on theme. The Final Girl (or guy) is always embracing their main character energy.
The Hysteric
The drama never ends with this one. The Hysteric is the person who is always tied up in sticky situations, but they’re always invited because (almost) everyone loves them.
If they were in a horror movie, this is the person who is spending several minutes screaming in the villain’s face instead of trying to run away. In fact, they kind of just scream about everything now that we’re thinking about it.
The Stoner
There’s always that guy or gal that spends the whole party smoking. The Stoner (or what we like to refer to as The Zaza Zombie) ends up getting a little paranoid and second-guesses every person and event at the party. Better safe than sorry; these are the people who usually survive in the movies since they hate taking chances (plus they’re funny AF).
The Stoner would never investigate a weird sound, partly because getting off the couch is half the battle.
The Cop
The Cop is a very by-the-book person that HATES breaking the rules. They’re super nice but tend to be kind of a buzz kill. Despite being a total narc, people love them.
You already know this person takes the Summerween party theme VERY seriously, and they showed up to the function in the best costume. They are not the person to stir up trouble, but they are the perfect sidekick in any sticky situation. They’ll (try to) keep you safe from any slasher, and they’ll make sure you don’t party too hard. We don’t know which one is scarier.
The Villain
If there’s one thing we know about The Villain, it’s that they’re a party animal that’s always looking for a killer time. Watch out for this one, as it’s impossible to decide if you love them or hate them! But there’s one thing for sure; you can’t trust them. Instead of relaxing and watching a horror movie, they’d rather raise some hell of their own. After staying up until sunrise, The Villain is even scared of themselves.
The Cringe Couple
The Cringe Couple never leaves each other’s side. While you might think that’s cringe-worthy, it actually helps them in the long run. We all know that if you find yourself in the middle of a horror movie, splitting up is never a good option. This couple takes that advice literally and spends the whole night hooking up. For safety, of course.
