Comments about Spencer's Sickening Reaper - Decorations:
This thing is so cool. When used with a fog machine it makes it so much better. we put this out for trick or treat and half of the kids wouldn't come near our house. Poor kids I had to take the candy to them across the street. The teenagers loved it and so many people got a picture with him.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Best purchase I've made in a long time
from Niagara Falls, NY
About Me Adventurous, Conservative, Trendy
I bought this to use in our annual haunted house fundraiser as well as an addition to my decor at my house. It was a huge hit. In the right lighting, he looked so real. I love the volume control of his voice so you can actually hear him. The build was a little confusing even with directions but still wasn't that hard. The sickle looks a little cheap. Other than that it was well worth the money. I would recommend this product to any and everyone!
COOL LOOKING REAPER
By JOEY V.
from NORTH TONAWANDA, NY
THIS IS A COOL LOOKING REAPER. IT IS LARGE, AND IMPOSING. I HAD IT ON MY PORCH AND IT SCARED SOME OF THE YOUNGER KIDS THAT WERE COMING TO MY DOOR FOR CANDY. THE ONLY DOWNFALL IS IT HAS A NUMBER OF PARTS TO PUT TOGETHER. THE SICKLE IS FLIMSY BUT I'M SURE THE PLASTIC PIECES COULD BE REPLACED BY A WOOD STICK OR DOWEL. THIS IS PRETTY COOL LOOKING AND QUITE SCARY AND IMPOSING BECAUSE OF IT'S LARGE SIZE.

Three words: Best Prop EVER!!!
from Schiller park, IL
About Me Adventurous, Loves halloween
There was no special occasions but my mom did buy this prop for me. so I don't know if it was a gift or not but all I know is this is one of the props in the top 3 of the hundreds of Halloween props a have bought from spirit Halloween! this is a must buy prop that you should not miss out on and buy here is some information about this prop: Some people prefer props with moving mouths however, this props mouth does not move but I would still highly recommend this prop to you even if you prefer moving mouth also this prop is 6ft tall and it continues to repeat all movements and sounds until you unplug it. What this prop does is when you plus it in the 6ft sickening reaper prop will light up its eyes, mouth and chest green, move its head side to side and speak phrases repeatedly. This prop looks better in the dark than when the lights are on in my opinion, I think it allows you to see the lights in its eyes, chest and mouth better than with the lights on. awesome prop, bigger than you think and I am %100 satasfied and this is %100 worth the money!
Great for the money

About Me Connoisseur
Picked this up today as an early birthday present from my parents and girlfriend. He is awesome.. He's 6' tall (plus the sickle). The big complaint is that he's repetitive, but if that were a concern for me, I'd drop the volume all the way down (or disconnect the speaker), put in a remote speaker from my computer, and mix my own messages. The profile view isn't great, on both, the rear of the head, and the back (below the hunch) I'm going to create a shell for the back of his head and mid-back with really lightweight foam sheeting (or cloth that's been stiffened by painting it) to shape it better without adding weight, neither of which is really "required" but I hope to keep this guy up all year long, and those are simple aesthetic changes to make which will improve the side views dramatically. For me, the only negative issue is the fact that he takes up a lot of floorspace, more than I realized when I saw him at the store. His arms aren't really adjustable, so the tip of his outstretched finger is about 42 inches away from the wall if you back him up against one. The sickle tends to rotate outwards, so that goes out even further.. with the lowest point of the blade at about 6' above the ground. His hands are approximately 28 inches apart. I'm going to have to modify the arms a little, to fit the space I planned for him. I don't care much for the lights/animation as a personal preference, but have considered making a very basic inner mouth out of stiff, dark cloth, which would block some of the face light, but mainly give the mouth a little 3d depth. When it's unlit, it looks great though, so I may not bother with it. All-in-all, you normally can't approach a stand-up animated figure of this size and quality without moving into a much higher price range. The stance is somewhat unique, and doesn't seem nearly as stiff and generic as most do.. a fan blowing at him gives just enough push to move him slightly, and make's all the gauzy bits (and long hair) move nicely. Most importantly, the character is set in a position that lends itself towards being still.. he's hunched forward, and appears to be using the sickle as a walking stick.
Best buy for the price!

I work at Spirit Halloween, and I walk past this decor every day. He's so awesome, that I had to take him home. He stands an incredible 6'5". He has a awesome sickle. His chants and sayings are very spooky! He lights up in all different kinds of ways, which give him his unique scary look! Also, if you place a fog machine inside him and close his dress up, fog will come out of him. VERY COOL!

Picked this up at my local store. First time seeing it in the store so I didn't hesitate. Got him home and set it up. Was expecting plastic parts, but was very surprised to find most of this guys armature is metal. Great face detail, and huge sickle. The motion sensor is in the pointing finger, and it has great range. Was even more surprised to find it works perfectly in pitch black. At first my guys head did not move but after a few mins, it did. Not sure what that was, but it works like a charm now. Can't wait for him to welcome my Trick-Or-Treaters.

Good Prop… But Buy On Sale

About Me Adventurous, Slightly Insane, Trendy
The Sickening Reaper is a pretty cool prop that I only purchased because of a promotion that Spirit was offering. For Pros: The thing looks good and is pretty massive. It's over 6' foot tall for sure. The face and hands look great and the eyes look good lit up. It's animated and has lights & sounds so it's the whole package. For the Cons: There is some difficulty to assembly. It will probably take you about 45 minutes to an hour to assemble. The costume is CHEAP. I ripped it while undoing some Velcro and had to have my wife sew up a 3 inch tear. It has the potential to look better if you are crafty and looking to improve the prop. The hair is also fairly poor and is falling out strand by strand. Essentially don't touch it. The sickle is a joke. I will be rebuilding that also. The proportions of the reaper look strange and need some building up (imo) under the costume. Also, as others have mentioned the speaker is pretty poor quality. I purchased it with that in mind, planning to overlook the fact but it gives the prop a crackle in the voice at any volume and essentially seems to be either too quiet or so loud it hurts your ears. The volume dial is really touchy.Overall this is a "GOOD" prop (Not great). You are paying for the convenience of a pre-built animated prop with lights and sounds. At a deep discount I would probably call it a "GREAT" prop. If you are interested in props but not savvy in animatronics, etc this is a good option that can be much improved with some creativity and crafting.

The Good and the Bad
By Michael V.
from Carlsbad, CA
About Me Conservative
As a regular Spirit animatronic buyer, here is my take on the good and the bad on this one:GOOD- Tall, easily over 6' which makes this one pretty darned intimidating!- Solidly built, good quality frame, good electronic connectors- Scary. Real scary.- Surprisingly sensitive sensor which is great as too many fail to trigger.- 3 settings and a volume control!BAD- Will require patience to assemble, I am very experienced with Spirit animatronics and still took me an hour+ as I wanted to be careful.- Voice quality is poor not as good as on the video.- Requires true caution in assembly as the gauze pieces are pretty thin, and I thought pieces were missing but they were just stuck to other pieces.
from So Cal
Overall I like the Reaper, but it was cheaply made, the reaper pole was junk. It wound up in the trash can. I used a broom stick to make it right. It does look very cool on the porch to greet visitors.
Great for a small haunt

About Me Adventurous, Mr Halloween
This is a fantastic prop if you have a small yard haunt. It works very well as a focal point and is sure to scare the dickens out of the little kids. But, as many older children and adults will point out, it is very repetitive. But the worst part is that the mouth doesn't move. It does have some excellent movement and the motion sensor works very well. I, for one, do not like having the eyes light up on props as I find that this detracts from their authenticity. But if you have a dimly-lit area, this could get quite a reaction.
from Torrance, Ca
This is very cheaply made. First off, it is alot shorter than I thought, maybe 5ft9 or so. The thing he holds is probably a ft taller than that. The thing he holds bent and broke the day after he was put together. I'm not someone who likes to go to the trouble of returning things or I would. I don't even think he will last through this halloween season.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
2 Words: DON'T BUY!!!

About Me Creepy
I wanted to use this product as a prop in my yearly haunt. I took it out of the box and assembled it. I plugged it in with a fog machine. First, the head moved very jaggedly, and later fell off after 3 uses. His light quickly fried out, and hid speaker was very quiet with the lines, but loud with a strange buzzing sound. This prop would do better standing alone, but not even that would be okay. This prop is not worth buying or even TOUCHING the box in a store.
