Comments about Spencer's 4.5 Ft Peek a Boo Penny Animatronics - Decorations:
I purchased Peek A Boo Penny April 2017 so this will be the first Halloween in my display. She is pretty startling when her head pops up and it pops up very quickly. Penny may need to be fastened down to keep her in place or from toppling over. She reminds me of the jumping brown spider activates quickly with quite a bit of force. The volume is adjustable and her voice is clear she only has one phrase but it's creepy. She could use a little more hair to conceal her face before she pops up. Her costume is cute ruffles, lace and bows in her hair very cutesy till her face shows up and she has one ugly face! The prop is a decent size the sensor is in her hand and triggers easily. I like that Penny is versatile enough to be used in different themes haunted house, graveyard, asylum etc. She would fit in well with the 2017 Haunted Kids animatronics. I'm hoping Peek A Boo Penny has durability to match her scare quality. I like this prop there's not a lot of bells and whistles but it's fast and effective. Her only downside is once she is put together she can't be totally disassembled and put back in her original box. The price seems fair and I purchased her with an online 20 percent off discount.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Peek-a-Boo Penny is Best Penny
from Houston, TX
I bought Penny two years ago and she has brought *so* many scares since then. I've had trick-or-treaters get scared by her, find their friends, and send them up to my door so she could scare them too! I have her activated with the foot-pad that I hide under a mat. The only (minor) issue I've had is that the adapter for the plug stopped working. But as long as I keep an eye on the batteries and have replacements close at hand, then she keeps on scaring. AWESOME prop!

I would buy again and do tell others to buy her
I love penny, 2nd one I bought, I use her in my outdoor decor. Kids AND adults get scared when her head pops up (kids run, adults do it again). Only con is she wobbles but then again she not meant for outdoors

A very scary prop. Penny has a quick set up that is not to complicated. Very well detailed and works very well, and she is also pretty durable. Her Pop-Up action is very quick and is sure to scare any guests. (She even scares me sometimes.) Very happy with her. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a quick and good scare for their Halloween Party, Haunted House, etc. Amazing decoration. :)

PEEK- BOO- PENNY was our new addition for our haunted yard. Amongst our other displays, we staged a bedroom where she was with her dead grandpa laying in his coffin bed. Very effective, people too scared to look and avoided the covered step pad. She makes a person scream with surprise! If there's anyone else that loves to celebrate Halloween, she's a wonderful addition.

High quality prop that guarantees jumps over and over!

While browsing the large props on display at the local Spirit store, I came across one that immediately grabbed my attention (and made me yelp in surprise!). I'm normally not one to get startled by the props, but Peek a Boo Penny put my steel nerves to the test. When I first saw Penny, she was displayed innocently near the large cardboard house showcase; as soon as I got within 6' of her, she started singing that measured, unnerving song. I could see a bit of her skeletal face behind her hands, and I was expecting that her hands would drop or open to reveal the terror behind. Boy, was I wrong! Her head sprung up at such speed that I flailed back! Sadly, the display was the only one the store had, so I did not buy her and purchased the Pumpkin Guardian of the Grave instead (I'll leave a review on that, too). Long story short, Pumpkin Guardian's sound activation-only system was sporadic, and I decided to search for Penny at another Spirit location. I had to visit two other stores before I found her.Assembly was very easy and clear. The middle pole locks permanently, so you may have to store her standing up or lying down. I noticed that the arms on my Penny, even after being snapped into place, were about a ½" lower than the store demo's arms, so they didn't cover her face as much. A ½" sounds minor, but it makes a big difference. Her hair was a bit thin in places, so I had to apply some wig wefts to hide the thin areas. I also extended her hairline so that the it frames her face and falls closer to her cheeks, as her hands don't conceal her face on the sides. People can now approach Penny from the side without seeing her skeletal features. My Penny also had a few small oil stains on her dress upon opening the box, most likely from the factory. Nothing major. The details are very good on Penny, from the lace cuffs to the hair bows. It says she's sound and motion activated, but she seems more sensitive to motion rather than sound (I don't know where the listening device is, but her motion sensor is on her left hand). Even when I run her through test runs, and I now know how her head springs up, she is still startling. The pop-up action is loud in itself, and she screams when it happens. Penny wobbles only slightly when her head springs, but the base seems sturdy enough. I have her running on four AA batteries.Overall, she's a great prop at a wonderful price. She's large enough to be intimidating, yet small enough to tuck safely into a corner for storage. She'll be a great trick-or-treater greeter! The recording is loud and clear, You'll definitely get your money's worth – and scares – with Peek a Book Penny.

I scared grown men with her. She's great. Highly recommend her to anyone who loves Halloween. I added her to my collection last year and she was the hit of the party.
Came in broken but had a very nice representative who was very helpful. Had no issue sending back-waiting for new replacement.
People look at her hands...everyone jumps!
Everyone is watching her hands....love watching people jump!
Great addition to haunted house
from Murrieta, CA
Used with optional footpod, it takes too long for Penny to deploy. She sings her "trick or treat" song every time before deploying. There should be a mode where she deploys immediately when footpod is pressed. This would make it easier to scare unsuspecting victims!

Peek a boo penny is a very effective jump scare prop! The only problem I have is she leans a little, so it has to be on a flat surface to be straight at all. But other than that, everything is working perfectly! Motion sensor works great, and is fairly sensitive to sound.... like the description says, everyone will jump when penny's head fly's!

Scary prop at a great price
Power cord broke before i even got to use it for halloween so i had to use batteries and her head keeps getting stuck. Very disappointed.
This prop isn't really durable.
When I got this prop I thought it wouldn't wobble when she pops her head up since in the video she doesn't wobble. When I activate her she works great but she wobbles a lot. One time she fell and she doesn't pop up that much.
Would be nice if it worked
from Milton, KY
Got it pretty quick and put it together, the sound works great but the head will not pop up like it is supposed to. It is still pretty creapy but we wish it would work. We emailed the company and will wait to see how they fix the issue.
Don't like it that much
