Great prop would purchase again!
from Scappoose, OR
Came quickly, was a great addition to our yard zombie cemetery. Love how the head moves around and moans and looks like he is on fire with the red accents in the head.We decorate BIG for Halloween and have many ground zombies
Worked flawlessly all week!

About Me High-end Shopper
I had to reweld some of the factory welds because they were so poorly done that they broke. Other than that this animatronic worked perfectly.
from Long Beach, CA.
Used the Smoldering Zombie this past Halloween (2018) and it was a big hit! The arms were flimsy...I had to duck tape them so they wouldn't fall off when moving the Zombie.
Perfect for your fog machine!
from Tampa, FL
This is one of my favorites, had it 2 years now and it is the coolest on a dark night with the smoke billowing out - the video does not do this prop justice - we named ours "glug-glug" because of the cool noises he makes and his jerky arm movements are creepy - he really does look like a smoldering zombie and his sensor is perfectly placed to go off often but not constantly. My only tiny complaint id the arm attachments pop off easily if you move him around and i wish he were bigger, but we put him about 6 inches off the ground with some paint cans and a floor tile, his shirt and arms are long enough to cover. Highly reccomend!!

Really good effect for the price
Okay so this review is going to be a little mixed. After spending a good amount of time on the Spirit website as well as many others, I decided on this one because of its easy setup and is something that I could contain for outdoor use by protecting it from the elements.First off, the effect is really cool. Between the lights and the movement, it sets up for a pretty cool display. This is where I have to point out a few flaws. When I received the unit, I immediately plugged everything in to test to see how everything works. It appeared to work correctly until I put on the shirt at which then I realized, the upper torso light was extremely dim. I then went and looked at a few other photos and videos online and it was clear that the light was either damaged in shipping (nothing is protecting it) or never worked. It had a brightness of maybe 10 compared to the other light that was in the zombies head. From far away you cannot even tell there is a light in the torso.I called Spirit and actually talk to their dr. zombie team at which they said they have demos of almost every product and that they can possibly send me just the light and the mount. I was fairly happy with this even though it took a few days of going back and forth of locating the device and seeing if they could take it apart, but they did eventually did get it to me without any extra charge. This goes to say they have some extremely customer service driven people and as well as technical to be able to figure out how to take these things apart since they don't manufacture these items themselves. Once I got the replacement light I swapped it out and I was ensured that my old light was broken without a doubt. Then the next issue came when I was replacing the light the spring that holds up the zombie's head snapped. So I'm not sure if these are low-quality parts or maybe they're just really fragile. Either way I called Spirit customer service again and talk to the dr. zombie team and again are shipping

Amazing Prop; Your haunt is incomplete without this
from Dane County, WI
About Me Budget Shopper
I bought this product in 2016 with the money I had gathered for the Halloween season. This zombie did not disappoint me. I was originally not going to buy it when I saw the video, but it's much better in person. I used this product in a haunted house for 4 weekends every night, and the prop's motions stayed in optimal condition. I have yet to hook him up to a fog machine, but either way he's an epic add on to my haunt. If you don't have this guy in your haunt, you're missing out!

this item is awesome, works great and is good for indoor and outdoor use. (WARNING if u have this outside make sure the weather is not hot )because if this is in the sun it might push the head inwards due to the heat .i found this out when i tested it outside and it was like 90 degrees out .luckily i was able to push the head back outwards to fix the shape of the head.Overall totally recommend it .It brings a lot of attention to the house and will make a perfect addition to any Halloween party.

The best zombie prop
By Mystic Umbreon

The best burning zombie prop ever. It has more movement than smolderinog zombie. Hook it up to a fog machine. Its a 10/10.
Coolest animatronic EVER!!
from New York
I bought the last one in stock and when I got him, I was not at all disappointed! He worked great and was very scary! I decided to give him a purpose other than a Halloween decoration so I made him a character on my youtube channel (HorriblebooTM) named Kenneth "Kenny" Burns. Overall I'm VERY happy with him. The only real problem is his voice is more distorted than the video.

I recommend this product to zombie lovers!
I ordered the last one of these guys and when he got here and we built him, I was not AT ALL disappointed with him! He was terrifying and nice and loud. He looks great in the dark. I can't wait until I get a fog machine for him. I named him Kenny
Wow factor for Walking Dead Haunt
This smoldering zombe fit right in with my Walking Dead Home haunt! When the smoke started and he rocked back an forth everyone went running! Big Hit for 2016.
FANTASTIC! Best prop in our graveyard!
from Fresh Meadows, NY
I'm always looking for zombie or 'dead' animatronics for our outdoor Halloween graveyard. Saw this in the previews during the summer and was bowled over! My expectations were high, but it turned out to be EXACTLY like the videos! Seems quite sturdy, was easy to setup, and with a timer-based fog machine, he was the prop of the yard! It's even better when he stops moving and the smoke just pours through his shirt, with the 'charred' remains smoldering! This one does not disappoint!
I would recommend.
First impressions are good. the grunting is load and it will make a great addition to my graveyard this year. I have not been able to check the smoke feature yet as I have to hook it up to my fog machine when I get a chance. We'll see how it goes!

A Great Addition to your Cemetary or Yard Haunt!!
This guy was easy to assemble and looks great in operation. Can't wait to fire this guy up with a fog machine!!!!
from Attleboro, MA
Great prop! Always loved the concept of the "Smoldering Zombie", and this one represents that nicely. Set-Up is pretty simple, and does not take too long. The detail on him is fantastic, and he moves pretty smoothly, and the moaning sounds are a nice touch. The lighting is really good! Sometimes it may not be easy to notice at the store, but once you bring him home the lights are great! His whole chest and head illuminates. Very cool. I would definitely recommend!
LOVE THIS GUY!!
from Commack, NY
He's awesome, especially when you hook up a smoke machine to him!! Wish you could see the smoke more in the dark, but whatever.
Overall great Halloween prop

Fog tube connection did not have adapter for fog machine but was able to still create affect. Overall great Halloween animatronic prop with spooky affect especially at night. I used an orange light on prop to for extra spooky look.
from St. Louis, MO
Well I've only had it for a day and although I have concerns about how the arms attach we really like it! It's really bright and will plenty loud on Halloween night. I can't wait to get it out there and see how cool it's going to look with some fog!
from Hesperia, California
I bought this last year and it's a good prop. The only complaint I have is the the hands are attached to the arms with a wire. These wires break easily. It's definitely the weak spot of the prop.
I can't wait to set him up again next year
By Marvel Fan
from Parma Heights Ohio
I bought the Smoldering Zombie Groundbreaker in mid October. I waited until after Halloween to write a review, so that I could see how it would work and how much it impressed me. It did a great job of impressing me, but the reason why I'm giving it four stars is because I did have some issues. For starters, the prop was made to lean to the left, the main pole was kind of bent, so that was a disappointment. The second issue that I had was that the hooks broke off the arms when I was trying to pose him. But when Halloween came, he held up great and surprised everyone that saw him. I can't wait to set him up again next year!
easy to set up and good prop
from vancouver canada
This is the second year that I have used this guy. He's pretty good and very easy to setup and take down. I put him outside in Vancouver Canada where we get more rain during Halloween. He has good sound and he lights up really well. I would recommend him to others. He moves back and forth making sounds. I put a grave stone behind him so he looked like he was popping up our of the grave. everyone liked him.
Looks better than the video, but fog hose is not universal
from Maui, Hawaii
Ordered this as a surprise for my Halloween Fanatical wife. It was a great addition to our collection of props and decor. I was looking forward to the smoldering feature of the prop, but disappointed that the hose connection is not universal. It only fits a fogger that has a round nozzle. Our foggers are all low lying fogger machines, so the fog comes out of a slot, not a round nozzle. The hose adapter that comes with the Smoldering Zombie will not fit. So while the zombie is cool and unique, it falls short on the smoldering. We don't want to buy another fogger just for this prop. Kinda bummed.
i would buy this again
from Long Island, NY
Caution: The box says it will work with a 1000 watt fogger. But... The 1000W fogger melted the connecting tube in about 10-15 minutes of use. This gets *very* hot and will burn little hands. The fog is not in sync when the prop is activated. The fogger will trigger randomly without the prop being activated. I found this to be ok as the fog was activating the prop's motion sensor. I tried with the 400 watt fogger and works well but the 1000 watt fogger is much better as the fog will billow out of him like he is completely engulfed. Have to replace the plastic tube for metal. Great prop overall.
You will drop dead when you see and hear this horrible man

Using this Prop in a Scene in a display window, I think he would be the perfect piece to add, Prop is VERY LOUD AND I LOVE IT....Will definitely scare someone with the Screeching and Moaning
from Port Charlotte, FL
My largest complaint is that the bracket the holds his right arm doesn't match the pegs to attach it so I had to use a zip tie to connect it to the frame. Other than that, the volume control is a fantastic thing, most of my animatronics cannot be controlled and everything gets kind of loud at parties. He lights up well, when connected to the fog machine and running, he looks awesome...especially at night!
Workers must have been in a hurry to clock out

Both prongs that you hang the arms with broke off during assembly. They had a very small spot of weld to stick them together. Not to mention the flimsy wire arms...one of which was bent the wrong way but I will chock that up to packaging.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
All Quantity - Zero Quality
from Hamilton, Texas
I spent more than I normally EVER would for a Halloween prop. I never will again. - Almost no protection of the parts in the box for the shipment. - Broken weld in one of the most important areas (frame area holding motor, etc). - Very first step, to place a bar. It doesn't slip down enough to lock into place. - Second step, attach head. Head sits looking off to the right; not straight on at all. - The arms are not only made of metal wire and nothing more, but had no attention whatsoever put into what direction they'd face when installed. Photos show the hands basically resting on the ground in front of it. Mine had BOTH arms curved downward so that his palms are facing his body when it's put together. Straighten them? Pffft! Wires snap like a twig. - His shirt is too large to have it all attach to his neck. If you try to, the velcro closure is a good 2 inches past where it needs to close. - His shirt is way too thin. You don't just see a glow emitting from underneath his shirt. You see the light fixture/bulb itself plain as day...and that's in daylight. - The motor that makes him gyrate around (you know...to look ALIVE/UNDEAD) doesn't move an inch. Sure, the motor moves. You can hear it. But it moves nothing but itself inside its case. The zombie sits dead still and just growls and makes motor sounds.I paid well over $100 for this garbage. Never, ever again. Apparently, only Spirit Halloween's small and non-mechanical/animatronic items are of any quality. The only reason I'm not returning it is because I have neither the money to do so nor the time to wait for its replacement to arrive. I'll have to see what I can do to jerry rig it to even remotely come close to working right. I've never been so disappointed in a purchase in my entire 48 years! Stay away...rar, far away from this item and any higher-dollar items at Spirit Halloween.
