Best Prop Ever!!!
By Halloween Lover
This is the best prop I have ever bought from Spirit. It works great. It is so much cooler when you hook up the fog machine. I love what it says and the nice detail on the tombstone. It is well worth the money.

The design is great the look of the pumpkin guardians face. The tombstone is a little tricky to attach I damage it a little bit easy fix though no big deal I love this prop can't wait to use it with my haunt next year !!!
Guarding the grave
from Laredo TX
Got him on the 50% sale and hes been great since. I love everything thing about him except that his tombstone falls. To prevent the tombstone to fall we put something heavy on it and hasn't fell yet. Besides all that he's still an amazing prop.

Highly Recommended; Fog Is a Must!
If you are doing a graveyard or a "Field of Screms" theme, I highly recommend this prop. The Pumpkin Guardian of the Grave hides behind his highly detailed tombstone and rises with an eerily glowing face and speaks a spooky phrase. Now, the directions say hooking up a fog machine is optional, but all I can say is that the fog machine is almost mandatory to get the full effect. This prop would be borderline... boring without the fog. When the fog machine is attached, he rises, lets out a big of fog from his mouth, then a long flow of fog during his maniacal laughter at the end of his phrase. It looks amazing! So if you decide to invest in this prop, be sure you have a fog machine for him as well. It is really not optional.
The Perfect One!

OMG! This is one of the most awesome props! I love the way it glows in the darkness. The only trouble we had with the setup was even if we twisted the fog tube that was attached and tied it, it would still turn by itself. Sometimes it would start to lean backwards just a little. I will think about getting a fog machine to hook up. I bet it will look a lot cooler.
This product is awsome. I am sure I will get all kinds of fun scares in with this. also get the ground fogger but make sure to get cleaning and fog liqued. Get a regular 400w fogger and hook it up workes perfectley. use a ground fogger for the rest of the yard GET DRY ICE if you donet the fog wonet stay low definetley when its windey.

This particular product got our house a lot of attention. I did have one problem though. When I tried to hook it up to a fog machine and a step pad the fog machine wouldn't activate. I might have hooked it up wrong, but I was pretty disappointed.
Loved this item!!
from Fillmore, CA
Totally excited with this item. Loved the easy set up.Recommend 400 watt smoke machine with this for outdoor use.Had issues with sound activation. Had to stand above or very close and clap to get animation to work. Tried step pad (not included) also not effective. However, looked great with our theme and happy with purchase.

I bought this to add to my graveyard. It looked great but was a little unstable on the grass. I add some weight to the base to stabilize it. The sensor is on the body and with it being behind the tombstone it wasn't easily activated. The sensor should be on the tombstone itself. I bought the fog machine to go with it and that was a fantastic effect but it only worked a few times. I don't if the problem is the fog machine or the prop. The reaction from the Trick or Treaters was good.

About Me Adventurous, Classic
This is a good prop. Easy to assemble. It has an attachment for an internal speaker but the sound coming from the base is clear enough and the volume is good. It turns as it rises, which I reckon would be like a ghoul looking around at people. The tombstone is not steady and came out of the box with a piece flaked off. Black paint will fix that. I would suggest making your own tombstone for added sturdiness.
Pumpkin Guardian Grave

Used in my Graveyard scene, cool look, not very sturdy. It kept falling over with the slightest breeze, had to set some stakes and zip-tie to them to keep from falling over, after that, it worked great!
Does not come with fog
About Me Classic, Conservative
Description says with fog, you must buy the fog machine separate. Very disappointing. Other than that seems to work well. Would only recommend this if the person knows you must bring your own fog. (BYOF)
Neat product but very disappointed
We bought it last year as an addition to our lovely display but was very disappointed when we opened it this year to find that the eyes do not light up and the sound is not clear. If there are any ideas on how we can get the eyes work and the sound clear would be greatly appreciated!!
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I got this last year and put it up in the original box it came in. I got it out to set up for this year and the pumpkin guardian goes up but will not go back down! I need a telescoping module replacement and can't seem to get a response back from the original manufacturer. I spent a lot of money on that prop and would like it to work!
I kinda liked it

I used this in my front yard and it fell over twice after one hour. I would like to say that this product needs weight at the bottom of it.
Waste of money

This was a new prop for me Halloween 2016 really looked forward to using it but turned out to be not worth the money. It would be a great prop if it worked properly unfortunately it doesn't. Should rename it the Reluctant Pumpkin Grave Guardian as the sensor is useless doesn't work unless some kid taps him on the head. Had the sensor been located on the tombstone instead of the head it would trigger. The pumpkin head doesn't rise straight up instead it begins slightly twisted and becomes more exaggerated the longer he is on eventually you're looking at the back of his head while he speaks. Putting together the skinny tombstone is a pain it's difficult to get the three pegs into the nonexistent pre-drilled holes without damaging the tombstone. On the positive side about this prop the head is well constructed and creepy looking when connected to a fog machine the smoke coming out his mouth is a very cool effect and the voice and the phrase is spooky. Have lots of animatronics this one is by far the most disappointing the poor sensor and the twisting pumpkin head just doesn't cut it. Its junk way overpriced not worth more then $50! If you're determined to purchase this spend an extra $10 and get a foot pad it's the only way you'll be sure this dud will rise.

Bad Sensor and Flimsy
By Scaredy Cat
Assembly wasn't very easy, even though the instructions were written well enough. The pre-punched holes on the tombstone bottom didn't match the hole placement on the tombstone top, so the two pieces when assembled were misaligned; I had to make some new holes to ensure a better fit. Also, the prototype photo on the website shows that the tombstone top and bottom sections' seam is a smooth horizontal line; in reality, the seam is in a zigzag, so fitting the pieces together with the misaligned holes is tricky. Also, the black fabric cape of the Guardian has lots of static, so be prepared for threads to cling to you while you snap the pieces together. You'll notice after assembly that the attached fog hose gets in the way a lot. I decided to forgo the fog machine, so I tucked the hose behind him carefully. I placed him near the path, turned on the switch, and waved my hand in front of the sensor. Nothing. I repeated my actions, and still nothing. I walked behind him to see if the switch was working, and he started. He rose and said his line, but while he was elevated, the fog hose shifted. As he sank down, the hose caused his body to shift and hit the tombstone. I then had to move the hose, which finally allowed the prop to withdraw behind the tombstone. I tried again to activate him, so this time, I walked to the front of the prop and clapped my hands to test the audio sensor, but again, nothing happened. I clapped a few times before the Guardian activated. But, like before, the fog hose was twisting, and his body kept swaying and shifting while he was up. I rigged the hose so it wasn't dragging, but it ruined the illusion, as it was now clearly visible. Of all the visual/audio sensor tests, Pumpkin Guardian only responded about 50% of the time, and mostly his reactions were delayed. Suffice to say, I was disappointed with Pumpkin Guardian of the Grave, and I returned him.
Quit working after a day after getting sprinkled on. Very disappointed.
Stopped rising after an hour of use.
from Peekskill, NY
Used it in front graveyard, bought a 400 watt fog machine and a gallon of fog juice to go along with it. Everything was working fine until an hour into it's initial use it stopped rising. To be safe I changed batteries with equally new batteries even though I had just put in new ones an hour earlier. Still didn't rise but the fog continued to spill out it's mouth/eyes so I removed lower half of tombstone so that people could see the pumpkin guardian's face. Even when I turned it off, the green l.e.d's stayed on so I had to remove batteries in order to turn the light off. Was great while it worked for an hour on Halloween and it was too late for me to return it for a refund. I disagree with spirit's no-return policy after October 15th/16th for this exact reason as I only use the animatronics/products one night a year and sadly this lasted only an hour before malfunctioning, making loud clicking sounds. If it worked, I would've said yes to recommending to a friend but I can't for this one. I also noticed several others had returned this product to stores by me by the 15th/16th of October complaining of audio shorting out on theirs(and later being re-sold for 20% off the original non-sale price for non-working audio).
