This is overall a decent chess set with a cool theme and a great price point. Your average nice chess set with themed characters will cost 4 times this much or more.

A couple of design drawbacks: the werewolves are quite difficult to tell apart at a glance once play has started and the pieces are scattered. I recommend painting the pieces to add ease of play. The vampire king has a naked girl comming out from under his cloak. I found this detail unnecessary and detracting from the sets overall appeal.

On a manufacturing quality note: the packing material is an exceptionally cheap styrofoam that breaks apart into tiny balls on it's own. This is a problem because during manufacturing the pieces are packaged before the glue is dry on the felt bottoms. This lead to styrofoam balls being stuck to the pieces and the felt. 3 of the pieces in my set had half loose felts that had to be reglued. Still, it's worth a little super glue, cleaning and 15 minutes of your time given the price of this product.

This chess set is very heavy wonderful craftsmanship and my son loves it I can't believe what a wonderful detail job they did on this.

The pieces are wonderfully artistic and they avoid the new "teen vampire with hyped up hormones" trend that has hit mainstream everything lately. The only thing I find annoying is the stands can be a little annoying when setting the board up. Otherwise, I use this as decor along with game play.

I bought this set for the pieces and use them on the Medieval Dragon Chess board and it looks so cool. Gothic, yet elegant.

I got this as a gift from my wife for valentines day. Im a werewolf fan and shes a vampire fan so it seemed really neat to her. Im a huge chess fan and have boards laying around everywhere. Amazing overall. The craftsmanship is amazing. The only slight problem at first is you might get confused as to what pieces are what (ie rook knight etc) other then that if you know any chess fans that collect boards or just werewolf/vampire fans itll make an amazing gift.
