I use this fog machine to help create a creepy look in my graveyard scene. You can use ice or dry ice in this machine and get a great effect from it( though dry ice will help keep the fog low longer). I have had my original one for 3-4 years now and bought a second one last year as my decorations have grown and therefore =the area in which I decorate has grown as well.

Comments about Spencer's Low Lying Fog Machine:

Overall- Nice product that I would recommend! After observation and compensation, tweeks can make it a spot-on product.
    However there are faults:
    1. I bought two foggers from the same place and put them outside on the same day. One clearly works better than the other. Fog is lower longer and stays around longer. Not sure I can return given the seasonal store's return policy.
    2. Dont let the grass picture on the box fool you! The disclaimer says "indoor use only" because its not waterproof. Although, if it is dry out, it works fine. But do it at your own risk.
    3. Almost any breeze will pick up the fog and take it across the lawn...sometimes it means it went straight up or away from the scene.
    4. "automatic safety shutoff" seems awesome but actually = fog stops coming out pretty frequently, every couple of minutes. It is by no means continuous. For that you have to buy several and have them run on different cycles.
    5. Needs ice. Lots of it. Be prepared to refill it every 15-20 minutes if you want the fog to stay low. Without it, fog will go up.
    6. Indoor use: without ventilation, it will smoke out a room and the smell isnt bad but its not quite odorless. Instructions note it has to be at least 2 feet
from people and ensure it isn't near a smoke detector. Lots of things I didn't expect.

Comments about Spencer's Low Lying Fog Machine:

Been wanting one of these for 6 years, but could never fit it in the budget. Finally got it this year and had my hopes built up too high. Tested it out in the house, and it has a long warm up time. When it finally started fogging, was impressed with how dense the fog was! But it was short lived. It fogs for 36 seconds, and then needs to warm up for 1 minute and 10 seconds. So by the time it comes back on, all the fog is gone. Wish it had a temp sensor that could regulate the heating element better. On a budget, it adds a nice effect, but could be better.

Comments about Spencer's Low Lying Fog Machine:

I was in search for a fog machine that worked well for our front yard the night of Halloween. This seemed like a good option because it had an ice well that cooled the fog before it disburses from the machine. It works great for the most part.

    COOLING WELL

The instructions state to watch the ice well every 30 minutes. It's more like every 5 minutes. Other reviews have recommended dry ice but the well is so small that I"m not sure if I could get dry ice that small.

    NOISE

When we first started this up it made a horribly loud noise, as if something was very wrong. After about a minute it settled out and stopped making the noise. It seems to be fine at this point.

    FOG

It does generate a nice thick fog. Having a very full ice well keeps it low lying but the minute the ice runs low the fog rises a lot.

    TIME FRAME

The fogger doesn't run long at all. It runs about 10 seconds and shuts off. I contacted support and they said that is normal operation since it's a safety measure for the unit not to overheat. It's kind of disappointing since at the time it begins to ramp up and do a good job it shuts off. For the price, I would expect a longer run time. I've owned cheaper units where it has run longer.

Overall, I'm glad that I only bought one to try it out. It's not a total fail but I will keep looking for the perfect one.

Comments about Spencer's Low Lying Fog Machine:

I bought this machine on sale at Spencers to use this upcoming Halloween. It's light weight. It takes about 5 minutes for the first warm up. You can get about a 20 second burst each time it shoots, and it takes about 2 minutes warm up time between bursts. The fog only shoots out about 2 feet from the machine, so if there is any wind it will easily carry the fog away. This effect works much better indoors than outdoors. I filled up the tank, and used this machine nonstop for an hour. I only used maybe 4 oz of Fog Juice! With a full tank it can easily be used multiple nights. If you do use it indoors make sure the smoke alarms are off, or really far away from where you are using it because the fog can make them go off. Also, I recommend using DRY ICE for this machine. Regular ice won't keep the fog down low to the ground for more than 3 seconds. The fog will just rise like a regular fog machine, just slower. Dry Ice will keep the fog LOW to the ground. If you want to produce a lot of fog for a party, look into other machines, or buy at least 2-3 of these machines to use at the same time.
