I ordered this lamp from spencers since I have purchased from their store in malls before. I didn't even kick on the extra 5 dollar shipping fee. When I first opened the lava lamp it was extremely cloudy and had wax smeared on the side. After warming it up and letting it cool a few times it is still so murky that the lava is only visible when it is against the glass facing you.
Its just a great lava lamp for any room
Its just a Pretty Lava Lamp
I was very disappointed that after 10 days of purchasing and using this lovely lava lamp it was still as i got it out of the box CLOUDY :( Its a big gamble to buy a lava lamp on the internet and i did for the lack of stores that sells it around me and it was defective , maybe its just my luck but i am contacting Spenser's gift for a replacement and hope i get one ...
I like the larger size and this one has a cool color effect. The lava is yellow at the bottom and glows more orange as it rises in the purple fluid. I prefer to buy these lamps locally just in case of a defect which is not uncommon with these lamps. One I ordered from another large online store was very very cloudy and I had to return it. The I went out to the local Spencer's and bought one which was crystal clear.
I recommend using a digital timer so you can have the lamp turned on and warmed up at any time you'd like to see it perking and shut it off before the recommended 8 to 10 hours of maximum on time so it stays in good shape.
