MUCH better than the cheaper jumping spiders

Comments about Spencer's 12 Inch Attack Spider Animatronics - Decorations:

Really enjoyed this attack spider. Had purchased one of the older, cheaper ones a few years ago, and the motor actually blew up (started on fire!) the second year I tried to use it. Used the footpad with this spider, and it was perfect. Kids loved stepping on the pad, and then screamed when the spider jumped at them. Although it's more expensive, I'd definitely recommend this one.

Comments about Spencer's 12 Inch Attack Spider Animatronics - Decorations:

This jumping spider is awesome for the money and the scare effect. I would buy a bunch and set them up to scare people. I set up a three storey spider web with spirit Halloweens other products and then put the spider in the bushes. the con is that motion sensor is not fast but that ok as the spider will jump just behind the person. its inexpensive yet has a huge scare effect. I put the spider lights u can buy with spirit on pointing on the sidewalk with the spider in the bushes on the ground and made a spider web around my town home comples. It worked out well and this was my 2nd yr with it. I will probably get a 2nd one. I also put him on my desk at work and scared people who were not expecting him to jump. I wish it had an external speaker output. You will need to stake it into the ground as it jump with a lot of force. its very fast to assemble and fits in a very small box.

Comments about Spencer's 12 Inch Attack Spider Animatronics - Decorations:

Got this item for Easter and was easy to set up! It didn't come with a 6V2A adapter, but luckily I had two of them saved up from two of the Coat Rack Monsters we went over that broke and works great on this animatronic. I also had a Step Pad saved up from a broken prop and used it as well. I love the Jumping Spiders, but the Attack Spider is a lot better because the webbing isn't so messy and instead of doing a big jump, once activated it comes right out at you to what I'm estimating to be about one foot! It also features much creepier sound effects than the Jumping Spiders! It even came with a sand bag just in case it needed some weight on the back foot of this prop. Besides the Step Pad feature it's sound and motion activated, but the motion sensor is the only part that doesn't work. Overall, I am very happy and pleased with this animatronic! Just can't wait to put it out for Halloween!

Not bad - add light-up eyes in future versions!

Comments about Spencer's 12 Inch Attack Spider Animatronics - Decorations:

Definitely creepy-looking, but I think it would work better with red LED eyes, like those on the attack rat Spirit also sells. Otherwise, the design is good, and I like the Velcro tabs to keep the skirt on and the beanbag weight to hold the base down when the spider is tripped.

Comments about Spencer's 12 Inch Attack Spider Animatronics - Decorations:

Been wanting a "popout" spider for a long time and this one works very well. You might wonder like I did about the wire harness that goes to the head of the spider. It's for the sensors which are on the front edge of the spider. Definitely use either the trigger mat or your own manual trigger. I put this outside in the pinestraw along my sidewalk in between some shrubs. It works great but the sensor in the head of the spider works for motion or sound and doesn't really work well in the dark. That's not Spirits' fault just the way these photoelectric sensors work. The connector is a standard 3.5mm 2 conductor so I extended it with some light voltage wire to a simple push button switch. For maximum affect I side lighted the spider. Very cool that Spirit now includes external power connector and remote control switch on most if not all of their animatronics.
